ABOUT THIS COURSE
IT has six modules.
1: Available Technologies
This module introduces you to the technologies currently available to educators. These technologies are grouped according to their generic functions:
- Traditional Technologies: familiar devices that serve instructors well: audio, still image and video.
- Computer Based Technologies,
- Networking Technologies,
- Conferencing Technologies, and
- Integrated Technologies such as expert systems, virtual reality and performance support systems.
2: How learning Occurs
This module enables you to explore current research and theories about how human beings learn. It includes sections on how the brain works, theories of learning, communications models, instructional design, visual perception and
auditory perception.
3. Computing Basics
This module enables you to explore computer applications and software that are effective instructional tools. These include word processing, Natural Language Processing, databases, spreadsheets, drawing and graphics software, presentation software and Geographic Information Systems.
