K-12 Electronic Guide for Teacher Resources

This guide provides assistance to K-12 teachers, librarians, and students in locating on-line resources on African American History that can be used in the classroom, for research and studies. This guide summarizes some relevant materials for K-12 uses available on the African History Studies WWW.

Black History Lesson Plan (ask ERIC)

This lesson, based on the work of Jacob Lawrence, provides the students the experience of creating a biographical painting of an event in African American history. Intended for grades 3-6

Chapters of Black History Lesson Plans

This site includes 7 chapters of Lesson Plans. It covers suggested supplemental readings, key terms for better understanding, lessons with assignments and suggested readings. Required readings are From Slavery to Freedom, Chains and Images of Psychological Slavery, and Slave Drivers.

Black History Month (IBM version.)

A large site with that includes various articles, information, books, music, new, newspapers, periodicals, recommended reading list. Topics which includes Black History are slavery, and an extensive look on black military history (which includes Blacks in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War, Spanish American War, and World War I & II).
