REPORT ON JULY 2003

Second Annual Faculty and Graduate

Student Summer Research Forum

The second annual Summer Research Forum took place on July 31, 2003 and was a great success.  We started the day with coffee and muffins and welcomes by Dean Budd Hall, Larry Yore, Chair of the Faculty Research Culture Committee, and Susan Corner from the Executive of the Association for Graduate Students in Education..  We then attended six excellent sessions conducted by faculty and graduate students between 10:00 a.m. and 4:20 p.m.  Twelve speakers presented in the sessions.  Attendance at the Forum was up this year with an average of 27 persons attending sessions.  See the following schedule for the specific sessions that were conducted.

This Summer Research Forum provides us with energy to conduct a Second Annual Faculty and Graduate Student Fall Research Forum on November 7, 2003 in Room 110 of the Centre for Innovative Teaching.

We have canvassed the faculty and graduate students for suggestions for this day of sessions.  Keep your eye out for details of the day, but right now set aside in your day timer from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on November 7, 2003 for a day of sharing and renewal on research happening in our Faculty.
