Academic Units
Overview |
|

The Faculty of Education is composed of three major academic units: The Department
of Curriculum and Instruction; the Department of Educational Psychology and
Leadership Studies and the School of Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education. These units are home
to both undergraduate and graduate programmes. In addition, we have a
number of on-campus and off-campus teacher education programmes in the areas
of elementary, middle years, secondary and Aboriginal education. We offer
courses both at the University of Victoria campus and off-campus in community-based
settings. We have a strong Continuing Studies in Education unit that
offers a wide range of non-credit professional development courses and a nationally
recognized Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education.
The Faculty of Education is also home to a number of specialized research and
development centres: Centre for Youth and Society; The Centre for Excellence
in Teaching and Understanding of Science; Pacific Centre for Science and Technology
Literacy (Pacific Cyrstals Centre); Institute for Physical Activity, Health and
Wellness; and the Child Honouring Task Force.
