Chair of Curriculum and Instruction

 

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is the largest and most diverse academic unit on campus. We have 37 fulltime regular faculty members and over 20 sessional instructors (per term). Areas of teaching and research interest include aboriginal education, language and literacy, foundations, mathematics education, science education, educational technology, social studies education, curriculum studies, music education, art education, drama education, early childhood education, and second language education. Our faculty members also work in schools and on community development projects.

Undergraduate programs offered in conjunction with other Faculty of Education departments include elementary, middle and secondary teacher education. Our graduate programs include M.Ed. (project based), M.A. (thesis based) and a newly developed Ph.D. in Educational Studies. Our graduates have educational leadership positions across British Columbia , Canada , and around the world.
