Admissions
Aboriginal Education welcomes students with aboriginal ancestry to apply to our Faculty of Education elementary and secondary teacher education programs. We are here to support you in your application and during your course of study.
Special Access Initiatives
The Faculty of Education is committed to increasing the number of teachers with Aboriginal ancestry. In recognition of the BC Ministries of Education and Advanced Education's mandate to increase access for First Nations, Métis and Inuit students, the Faculty of Education has developed Special Access Initiatives.
Reserved Seats
5% of the positions in the faculty's elementary and secondary teacher education programs will be held for First Nations, Métis and Inuit applicants who meet the Faculty of Education's requirements as well as the First Nations, Métis and Inuit application requirements.
Exceptional Admission
Exceptional students who do not meet the admission requirements may be eligible for admission through a case by case review process.
There is a policy within the Faculty of Education that 5% of seats in teacher education are reserved for students of aboriginal ancestry.
