The revealing, in 2002 of Green Lane Hospital having stored babies’ hearts and other organs for many years without the knowledge or permission of families, for research, was the beginning inspiration for this work.

The title means the return of the parts to the body and the land.   As I worked through issues; betrayal, cultural beliefs, grief and then observed the sensitivity of the dealing with the issue it became positive and healing.

The hand dyed fabric is background to the appliquéd mountain which includes a phototype image of the one who understands loss. The quilted images of fetus are suspended under the mountain but belong now. The pieced landscape is the vessel for all kinds of emotion.  This work extends to the victory of the human spirit over the abuse of human rights.
