Welcome the Feminist/Women’s Arts/Crafts and Adult Education website. The purpose of this site is to highlight the educative, learning, activist and social justice potential of feminist and women’s arts/crafts-based projects and activities in Canada, New Zealand/Aotearoa and other parts of the world.
The site includes the following:
1) Information on an international comparative study in Canada and New Zealand/Aotearoa on feminist and women’s arts/crafts-based education
2) Examples of feminist and women’s arts/crafts based projects
3) Warrior Women Project
4) An annotated bibliography of publications on arts-based learning and art-based inquiry activities in community, literacy projects and the academy.
5) Lists and information on books and other articles of interest
Much of the information contained in this website came from a study funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and another funded by the Canadian Council for Learning (CCL). Assistance was also given by the School of Education, University of Waikato.
