Image
For your assignment, your website should contain at least one image. At the bottom of this webpage, the orange arrow is an image. Digital photos are saved as images. Clipart are images. Insert one or more of these into your website, but be cautious as to the size of the image file. Viewers with slow modem connections will have to wait a long time if you put too many images on one page or one large image that takes a long time to download and display.
Webpages never have images embedded in them. Rather, what you see is a link to an image file that is uploaded separately. For this reason, you need to transfer all of the image files you use to your server space in addition to transferring your HTML files. These images must also remain in the same relative position to your webpage or you may have a dead image link. This process works the same as the relative hyperlinks discussed in a previous section of this module.
Again, information on how to insert images is available in the Help menu of your HTML Editor. The HTML Tutorials on the resource page will provide support for those of you creating a webpage by entering the code yourself. Questions can be posted to the WebBoard or emailed to the coordinator.
Please continue onto the last section of this module on uploading your website to your server space.
