Tables

Tables are often used to organize the content of a webpage.  They can hold a navigation bar or be used to indent text by leaving the first cell of a row blank and inserting text in the second cell of a row.  Images can also be inserted into the cells of a table.  For your assignment, you will need to insert a table into one of your webpages.  In the word processing module, you created a table.  The process is quite similar in an HTML editor.  If you are "hard coding" your website (i.e., typing the code yourself), the HTML tutorials in the resource section will cover creating tables.

What you put in your table is up to you.  It will depend on the content you use for your website. The table need not be complex.  Make it useful for your website.   The anchor links at the top of each module page are set within a table that is one row by six columns.  Most HTML editors will allow you to easily create a table.   In Netscape Composer, you can go to the "Insert" menu and select "Table."  In FrontPage, you can go to the "Table" menu and select "Insert Table."  Other programs should be similar.  If you cannot see this command, try searching your Help menu for "Tables" or post your question to the WebBoard to get help.

Please continue onto the next section on inserting images.
