Colour scheme

According to the PowerPoint Help menu, "colour schemes are sets of eight coordinated colors you can use in your presentation. ... Each design template comes with a set of color schemes."  Unlike design templates, colour schemes can be applied to only one or more slides.  This can be useful when a "Discussion" slide is to be used or if you wish to switch themes in a presentation.  You can signify this change by changing the colour scheme of a design, while keeping the design template throughout the presentation.  For your assignment, you are asked to change the colour scheme of only one slide in your presentation.

To apply a colour scheme, select "Slide Colour Scheme" from the "Format" menu as shown below:

The following pop-up window will appear:

Under the "Standard" tab, a number of colour schemes will appear.  There may be more or less schemes available than what is shown in the above window. To change the colours used in a colour scheme, click on the "Custom" tab to get the following screen:

When you change a colour, all objects that used an old colour automatically change to the new colour. To save your changes as a new colour scheme, click on the "Add As Standard Scheme" button.

Once you have selected your standard or custom colour scheme, click the "Preview" button to get an idea of what it would look like.  To apply it to the currently selected slide(s), click the "Apply" button.  To apply it to all slides in a presentation, click the "Apply to All" button.

Please continue to the next section on inserting a Background.
