The Department serves local, provincial and international educational communities through a commitment to quality instruction, leading edge research and professional involvement. Established on July 1, 1999 through the amalgamation of the former Departments of Arts in Education, Social and Natural Sciences, and Communication and Social Foundations, the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is one of the largest departments at the University of Victoria with 37 full time faculty, 20-30 sessional instructors, 320 graduate students plus 6 staff members and 3 resource room/lab assistants.
