Programs

The Master of Arts in Social, Cultural and Foundational Studies provides students with the research skills and knowledge to work as master teachers, educational leaders, administrators, policy analysts, and consultants to government and other educational and community agencies. The program consists of 15 units including a 4.5 unit thesis. The following courses outline typical program requirements; however, all programs must be determined through consultation by the student and the supervisor.

Financial Assistance
Limited financial assistance may be available for highly qualified applicants.

  1. University of Victoria Graduate Fellowships. There are very few of these available. A minimum grade point average of A- is required for consideration.
  2. Teaching Assistantships for a few, highly qualified applicants with appropriate background. Further information available from the Department Chair or Grad Advisor.
  3. Research Assistantships for a few, highly qualified applicants with appropriate background. Further information available from individual faculty members.
  4. Teaching Supplements
  5. Sessional Teaching Positions for a few, highly qualified applicants with appropriate background. Further information available from the Department Chair.
