I I am a member of the Learning and Development Section and the Special Education Section. I am a developmental psychologist, with interests in social and emotional development, achievement motivation, developmental psychopathology, and the interplay between emotion, cognition and conceptions of self. My current research projects revolve around the use of the emotional Stroop task to detect emotional and self-concerned cognitive interference. This includes projects looking at the Stroop effect and motivational styles, domain specific Stroop effects and adolescent depression, and changes in self-perception and Stroop effect following surgical repair of deformity.
