The Most Severe Hurricane in the U.S.
The Galvestone, Texas, hurricane in 1990 was the natural disaster
that resulted in the most deaths in United States history. This
hurricane took 6,000 lives.
Try This
After a hurricane, 42 homes in a remote area were checked by public
safety officers. They found that 28 of the houses had no gas. 31
houses in all had no electricity. 2 houses lost neither gas nor
electricity. How many of the houses checked lost both gas and
electricity?
