Funding Guidelines
Up to four (4) graduate student travel awards of $250.00 each may be awarded during each of two award terms per calendar year.
There will be two award periods each year. For events occurring from March 1 to August 30 the deadline for a preliminary abstract and application will be February 15. For events occurring between September 1 and February 28 the application deadline will be August 1.
Guiding Principles
- Each student is eligible for the award once per degree.
- Must be first author on a paper or poster presentation at a relevant conference for your area of study.
- Must be a registered University of Victoria student at the time of the conference presentation.
- Your supervisor must approve and support your application.
- A preliminary abstract must be submitted at the time of application.
- Proof of acceptance of your abstract required to secure funding.
- Preference will be given to international conferences, followed by national conferences.
How to Apply
To apply, submit a written request to the Director of the School of Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education. Include your name; student ID number; email address; name of event, organization, dates and location; supervisor’s name and supervisor’s approval signature. Attach a copy of the preliminary abstract.
Travel Award recipients may be asked to present their papers or posters to fellow students.
