  • Total hours: 86 per term (average weekly hours 6.5*)
  • Rate per hour $22.82
  • Total: $1,962.52 plus 4% vacation pay paid over seven pay periods

 

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

When applying please state specific course(s) you are qualified to instruct.

Under the supervision of the course instructor and lab coordinator, performs the following: in-class lab instruction; administration of exams/quizzes; marking quizzes, mid-term and final exams and lab reports; and providing student consultation at established hours. Other tasks may be added at the time of the work schedule meeting with the instructor and lab coordinator depending on qualifications and time available.

* Wages will be paid in equal installments but actual hours worked may vary in a given pay period depending on the work schedule.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education or acceptable equivalent. Prior experience as an instructor or teaching assistant in the specific subject area is preferred.

 EPHE141 up to 5 per term (Sep-Dec OR Jan-Apr) Must have completed EPHE 141 or equivalent and have in-depth knowledge in human anatomy.
 EPHE241A up to 4 (Sep-Dec)  Must have completed EPHE 241A or equivalent and have in-depth knowledge in human cellular physiology.
 EPHE241B up to 6 (Jan-Apr)  Must have completed EPHE 241B or equivalent and have in-depth knowledge in human systemic physiology.
 EPHE348 up to 2 (Jan-Apr)  Must have completed EPHE 348 or equivalent and have background in sport psychology.
 EPHE360 up to 5 (Sep-Dec)  Must have completed EPHE 360 or equivalent and have background knowledge in exercise physiology and prescription.
 EPHE380 up to 2 (Jan-Apr)  Must have completed EPHE 380 or equivalent and have a background in motor skill acquisition and control.

Other criteria considered include the career and/or pedagogical value a particular position will provide to the graduate/undergraduate student, the student's preferences, and other sources of graduate student financial support being received. The School of Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education follows Appointment Priority Policy A described in the CUPE 4163 Agreement. Applicants who are students in an Ex Scie, Phys & Health Ed graduate program will be given preference.
