EPHE Resource Centre Supervisor (Academic Assistant)

  • One position (full winter session Sep-Apr)
  • Total hours: 192 (average weekly hours: 6)
  • Rate per hour: $22.82
  • Total: $4,381.33 plus 4% vacation pay over 15 pay periods

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Director, the Resource Centre supervisor will coordinate the overall operation of the Resource Centre in the School of Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education. Duties include: recruiting and recommending staff for appointment; scheduling the attendants; preparing payroll requisitions for the work study appointments; organizing the reserve readings for specific courses; consulting with instructors in regard to reserve readings; serving as a resource centre attendant monitoring the use of the facility and the loan and return of materials.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education or acceptable equivalent. Must have previous experience working in the EPHE Resource Centre or equivalent facility. Promptness and reliability are very important qualities.

Other criteria considered include the career and/or pedagogical value a particular position will provide to the graduate/undergraduate student, the student's preferences, and other sources of graduate student financial support being received. The School of Exercise Science, Physical & Health Education follows Appointment Priority Policy A described in the CUPE 4163 Agreement. Applicants who are students in an Ex Scie, Phys & Health Ed graduate program will be given preference.
